These workshops were broadcast live on the internet by the European Commission ManagEnergy Initiative Streaming Service. If you wish, we would like to encourage you to organise a local media-conference at your home facilities for people you believe could learn and benefit from the conference, but are unable to travel to Brussels.

Both days of the event were broadcast live on the Internet. However, due to the technical limitations of the venue, only one of the three parallel sessions on the first day was streamed live. Video on Demand (VoD) recordings of the live streams and of the two additional parallel sessions on the first day are now available.

Deploying new technologies and efficiency measures to reduce transport's CO2 emissions

  • Are you interested in best practices about the efficient use of energy in transportation and mobility?
  • Would you like to be informed on state-of-the-art projects now in progress in Europe?
  • Would you like to know more about alternative and bio-fuels, clean and efficient technology and how Europe is working to promote these?
  • Are you interested in public transport, inland shipping or road transport and in sustainable mobility in general?

If the answer to one or all of these questions is "Yes", then you will want to view the Internet Broadcast from this event. The Organisations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies (OPET) in cooperation with ManagEnergy organised a conference on new energy technologies and energy efficiency measures in transport.

The topic on 25 May was: New energy technologies and energy efficiency measures:

  • Low CO2 technologies and fuels for passenger cars
  • Energy innovation in inland shipping
  • Local and regional energy action in public transport.

On 26 May the focus was on the implementation of the bio-fuels for transport Directives, which set the targets of 2% bio-fuels in transport in 2005 and 5.75% in 2010. The workshop discussed the feasibility of these targets in the Member States, based on study results on bio-fuels availability, availability of suitable technology, and national, regional and local deployment plans.

The conferences are both relevant for the same target groups (governments, companies, fleet owners, research institutes, etc.).

The conference language was English.
