    Riga Energy Days is the information, education and awareness raising month long event on combating climate change. It aims to raise the competences of decision makers and professionals with regard to energy efficiency and introducing renewable energy sources. The event, which will include seminars, discussions, presentations and exhibitions, will take place in October 2011.

    The European Commission seeks to accelerate the large scale take up of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans by local and regional authorities in Europe by informing comprehensively about the scope, content and benefits of these plans. Until early 2013, a team of experts is delivering 35 seminars and experience exchange events on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans in national languages all over Europe. The technical training seminar in Riga is targeted at local planners and implementers in Latvia.

    The workshop will leverage on the experience and conclusions of ManagEnergy's previous workshop organized in Latvia in January 2011. It will assemble Latvian municipalities that have signed the Covenant of Mayors and those who are interested in sustainable energy policies. Relevant national institutions (including Managing Authorities), ESCOs, Banks and NGOs will also be invited as contributors or participants
