ALTENER II Programme 1998-2002

This programme has been superceded by the Intelligent Energy - Europe programme.

Non-technological EU programme aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy sources.

The overall aim of the ALTENER programme is to make an essential contribution to increasing use and market share of Renewable Energy Sources, which are environmentally sustainable and constitute a major component of the Community strategy to abate greenhouse gas emissions. The aim is added value to existing efforts, national and local/regional, private and public, where this is needed and possible at EU level.
