Low Carbon Economic Areas : Building Retrofit

Commission for the New Economy, Manchester, is looking for partners for their Low carbon project linked to the fact that the city region of Manchester was designated as the UK's first Low Carbon Economic Area for the Built Environment. They are putting together a five year programme to accelerate work in the following areas:
  • domestic retrofit
  • non-domestic retrofit (including public and commercial buildings)
  • new build design and construction
  • renewable heat and power distribution
  • low carbon research
  • skills, employment and training
  • supply chain, product development and procurement; and
  • private sector financing

Their programme will run from 2010 - 2015. During the course of the programme they are seeking to develop a range of projects with partner cities under the above themes.
