Optimising investments in sustainable energy projects
The workshop targeted representatives of local authorities from municipalities, regions and related stakeholders.
The intention was to gather local authorities that are well progressed in the development of a local strategic energy action plans and which are facing challenges in implementing sustainable energy projects.
The aim was to identify and initiate specific actions supporting implementation of measures in relation to prevailing barriers and opportunities. The workshop also addressed the possible uptake of EPC (Energy Performance Contracting), the use of European Structural and Investment funding (ESI) in Lithuania and possible joint actions at a multi governance level, e.g. initiation of project development assistance supporting project implementation in several municipalities (In relation to e.g. ELENA support).
The workshop supported the follow-up of the November 14 conference Stimulation of the EPC market in Lithuania hosted by the Ministry of Environment in cooperation with the ManagEnergy Initiative and the IEE Transparense project (ManagEnergy Networking Event).
The first part of the workshop focused on the EPC subject, funding of energy projects from EU structural funds as well as issues of EU grant facilities for Project Development Assistance.
The second part focused on general issues of the energy economy of importance for developing and financing investments in municipalities.
The workshop was organised as a joint event by EU ManagEnergy and the Municipality of Alytus. Informal meetings with municipalities were held prior and subsequent to the workshop.
