MOVELETUR, the Sustainable Tourism and Electric Mobility in Natural Spaces partnership by Portuguese and Spanish institutions, was approved in June 2017. The main objective of the project is to promote a sustainable and clean tourism model for visitors of border natural spaces. The project also aims to create a network of "green" tourist itineraries that connect points of natural and cultural value to border natural spaces in electric vehicles. Additionally, training entrepreneurs in the tourism sector and entrepreneurs in the natural spaces offer electric mobility tourism.
The Spanish partners involved in this project are the Natural Heritage Foundation of Castilla y León (coordinating partner), Diputación de Ávila (APEA), and EREN. On the Portuguese side, the Association ADIRBA (Associação Para o Desenvolvimiento Integrado da Región do Barroso), the Municipality of Braganza, the Instituto Politecnico de Castelo Branco (IPCB), and the Regional Energy and Environment Agency (Oestesustentabel) are associated partners.
