Short description:
Research on link energy efficiency and property value
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 649705.
Description:
The Horizon 2020 project REVALUE analyzed the appraisals of 120,000 homes from housing associations in the Netherlands, the UK, Sweden, and Germany. The study showed, among other things, measures for visible energy efficiency, such as windows, have a greater influence on the value of real estate than invisible measures such as insulation. For investors and lenders, the risks associated with low energy performance proved greater than the financial gain from high energy performance.
